I had home duty on Halloween while the Sweetest Boy's children drug him around the neighborhood begging for candy.
When Trix and I were roommates we lined the driveway with tiki torches. I revived the tradition. To keep the dogs from barking, I set up my station in the driveway. Plus it was a gorgeous night, so why not enjoy it. I had my iPod playing scary sounds on the bucket, a camera at hand, fat pug in a pumpkin outfit and a big bowl o
f candy.
This year we had LOADS of trick or treaters. Almost ran out of candy! We had zombies, a couple of scream ghouls, vampires, flappers, and of course MICHAEL JACKSON!!!
Little Michael Jackson came walking up the driveway with his Mom and Aunt. As kids get, he was a little excited running up the driveway and almost ran into one of the tiki torches. First thing out of my mouth was, "Hey now! The last thing we need on Halloween is Michael catching on fire again." Mom and Auntie thought that was hilarious. Hell, I was half way serious from the way the little rat was bouncing off the tiki torches. The funny comments on the way out of the driveway were, "I guess I'd be a crazy m'fr too if my ass caught on fire over a pepsi."
I had a great time my first Halloween with the youngens. I even found a way to keep the candy from being inhaled all at once. We had POPCORN!!!
I think next year we may stick to the adult type party, it's our turn. :)
